What a small, independent furniture and home decor retailer's online store could look like, built end to end as a self-directed studio project.
This is a concept project built by the studio to demonstrate ecommerce capability, which demonstrates just some our capabilities.
Built on WordPress with WooCommerce and Elementor to show how we'd approach a real retail client, from store structure through to a working checkout. It's a different stack to some of our other work, chosen deliberately, since not every client needs a fully custom build.

Process
The way we worked through the project.
Objective
The brief we set ourselves: design a storefront for an independent furniture retailer where browsing, product discovery, and checkout all feel considered rather than bolted together, the kind of experience a small shop rarely gets without a much larger budget.
Approach
We structured the store around clear categories (living room, dining, bedroom, office), built product pages with the detail a buyer actually needs before purchasing something for their home, and set up cart and checkout through WooCommerce. Elementor handled the page layout and design work. Product photography here is placeholder stock imagery rather than real product shots, since there's no actual inventory behind this build.
Impact
What actually changed once the new site went live:
- Store structure: A full browsable shop with clear categories, rather than a flat, unsorted product list.
- Checkout flow: A working cart and checkout, the actual mechanics a retailer needs to take payment online.
- Platform choice: Built on WooCommerce specifically because it suits an independent retailer who'll want to manage stock and pricing themselves, without needing a developer for every change.
Results
No real store behind this means no real sales data to report. For an actual client, this is what we'd track from launch: cart abandonment rate, average order value, and mobile checkout completion, the numbers that actually tell you whether a store is working.
